ADVANCED PISTOL + PROTECTOR DEVELOPMENT
October 3, 2026
0800–1700
Soldier Summit Shooting Range
Course Tuition: $350
Pistol Only // Concealed Carry
COURSE OVERVIEW
The SOTG P1 Protective Performance Workshop is an intensive, eight-hour professional-development course built for experienced armed professionals, security personnel, individuals serving or pursuing protective roles, and capable pistol practitioners seeking a higher standard of performance.
This is not an introductory handgun course. Students are expected to arrive with established safe gun-handling skills, working proficiency with their concealed-carry equipment, and the ability to participate safely in a physically and mentally demanding training environment.
The workshop integrates technical pistol performance with the judgment, awareness, composure, communication, and decision-making expected of individuals operating in protective roles. Students will be required to perform under measurable standards while maintaining accountability for every action and decision.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Training will address:
• Fundamentals of marksmanship under measurable standards
• Efficient concealed presentation and equipment management
• Progressive live-fire development across practical distances
• Speed, accuracy, reloads, and performance at close range
• Situational awareness and Cooper’s Color Code
• The OODA Loop and decision-making under pressure
• Behavioral profiling and pre-incident indicators
• Decision triggers and confidence thresholds
• Professional demeanor, communication, and protective mindset
• Establishing and maintaining cold-performance standards
• SOTG P1 Pre-Qualification and Qualification
SOTG P1 QUALIFICATION
The course concludes with the SOTG P1 Qualification: a graded pistol-performance standard developed by Staunch Odyssey Training Group to evaluate the level of technical proficiency, composure, and accountability we believe should be demonstrated by an armed professional serving in a high-level protective role.
The SOTG P1 Qualification is an internal SOTG performance standard. It is not presented as a universal industry certification or replacement for licensing, agency qualification, or employer-mandated training requirements.
